Two specimens in the collection of the MMF identified as Diplecogaster bimaculata belong to this genus and probably to this species but are too small to be identified with certainty (R. Hofrichter, pers. com). Specimens needed for confirmation.

Not recorded from Madeira by Briggs in Whitehead et al. (1986: 1356-1357, L. candollei) even though it is the most common gobiesocid there. Recorded from Madeira by Wirtz (1994: 140-141) as Lepadogaster candollei, with a color photo from Madeira.
