Liza ramado (Risso, 1810) —Thinlip mullet

Risso (1810: 344) originally described this species under the name Mugil cephalus ramado . In a later publication (Risso, 1827: 390), he spelled the species name ramada. Subsequent authors used the spelling of Risso (1827); only Fricke (1999: 43) used the original name as Liza ramado . Eschmeyer (2004) suggests using the original spelling. Specimen needed for confirmation.

Recorded by Wirtz (1994: 52), with a photo of the species taken at Madeira. Record confirmed by specimens examined, SMNS 25013 (4, Seixal).
