Type locality and specimens. Fundort [locality]: Tjompea [Ciampea].
Dimensions. Länge mit Antennen 10 mm, Breite 0,5 mm. [Length including antenna 10 mm, width 0.5 mm]. 31 Beinpaare [leg pairs].
Type material. Syntype (ZMH-A0000541). INDONESIA: West Java, Ciampea [ca. 6°33’S, 106°41’E] .

Additional type material. There are 2 microscope slides with syntype parts from Tjompea (coll. K. Kraepelin 1903, don. K. Kraepelin) at the NHMW (no. 4883) .
Collection remarks. The specimen was collected from cave guano by Karl Kraepelin during his expedition to India and Java 1903–1904.
Curatorial remarks. Ilie et al. (2009: 37–38) noted: “ Weidner (1960: 63) specified the holotype (!) from the ZMH ” but this specimen is rather a syntype. It was lost by Crabill (Rack, unpubl.) and the material at the NHMW remains as the primary reference for this species.
Current systematic position. Mesoschendyla javanica (Attems, 1907); transferred by Crabill (1968c).
