Type locality and specimens. Deutsch-Ostafrika [German East Africa] ( Bagamoyo, Rio Quaqua [Quaqua River]), Zambesi. STUHLMANN leg .

Dimensions. Länge bis [length up to] 50 mm.

Taxonomic remarks. Kraepelin (1903) did not give the number of specimens in his description and all specimens are syntypes. It is possible that the specimens from Tanzania and Mozambique belong to different species .

Collection remarks. The type localities refer to former German settlements. The specimens were collected by the zoologist and African explorer Franz Stuhlmann (1863–1928).
