Type material. Syntype (ZMH-A0000645). INDIA: Maharashtra State, Mumbai (“ Bombay ”) [ca. 18°58’N, 72°49’E] .

Preservation. 1 jar: Label 1. Otostigmus orientalis Por. Ex typis Mus. Stockholm C. 30. VI.03 Bombay.

Old type catalogue. Weidner (1960), p. 69, No. 61. Paratype.

Collection remarks. The specimen came from the collection of the Museum of Natural History in Stockholm (Naturhistoriska riksmuseet) and additional syntypes are likely present there.
