Old type catalogue. Rack (1974), p. 108, No. 90. syntypes 3 ♀. Taxonomic remarks. Rack (1974: 108) noted that R.E. Crabill revised the species and chose a lectotype but it appears that this work has never been published. Weidner (1960) missed the syntypes and Shelley (2002: 29) missed Rack’s catalogue that lists the syntypes. Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Scolopendra heros (Girard, 1853) according to Shelley (2002: 28).
