Collection remarks. The specimen came from the private Museum Godeffroy in Hamburg and was collected by Amalie Dietrich. The remaining two specimens could not be found and were likely offered for sale in the Godeffroy catalogues (Appendix 3).
Current systematic position. Junior synonym of Cormocephalus westwoodi (Newport, 1844) according to Haase (1887: 62–63).
