Type locality: Brazil, Pará, Serra do Cachimbo.

Holotype ♂ with labels: (1) printed on white paper: “Cachimbo, Estado do Pará [State of Pará, Brazil] | Alt. 400 m, 14/21.IX. 995 [14–21.ix.1995] | L. Travassos & S. Oliveira col.”; (2) printed on red paper: “ HOLOTYPUS ”; (3) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white paper: “ Ptecticus | palpalis ” | M.C.A. Leal [Maria do Carmo Arcanjo Leal]”.

Condition of type: proximal part of abdomen damaged, terminal part of abdomen and terminalia retained in a microvial with glycerin pinned below the specimen. Missing parts: left antenna, left fore leg, and mid and hind legs except for the coxae and trochanters.
