Remarks.

Horch (1932) proposed this name as an abberation of A. levana (Linnaeus, 1758). This species is known for having two forms, Araschnia levana and prorsa that represent the spring and summer broods respectively. As stated by article 45.6.2 (ICZN 1999) it is deemed to be an infrasubspecific name (the author used “aberration”, “ab.”) and is hence unavailable.
