Material studied. Female, “Botany, N.S.W. (Froggatt and Skuse).” The type is lost.

Associated gall. The type was “bred from woody swellings on the stems of Eucalyptus haemastoma in December [Fig. 2 e].”

Description. Colour (extracted from Skuse (1890)): scape and pedicel greyish ochreous, flegellomeres cinereous; palpus greyish ochreous; thorax glossy brown, with two convergent pale ochreous lines to scutellum, pectus brownish, pleurae, scutellum and metanotum ochreous; halteres ochreous, paler yellow at stem base, with yellowish pubescence; abdomen ochreous to brownish ochreous, densely covered with yellowish hairs; ovipositor yellow; legs brown, femora beneath and at tip, tibia at tip and last three tarsomeres pale yellow; wings hyaline, densely covered with brownish pubescence, veins brownish.

Remarks. This type is lost but the species can be redescribed in the future once new specimens are reared from the galls. We consider this an unplaced species of Cecidomyiinae .
