Material examined. Holotype male, DENMARK, DK SJ, Draved Skov, 14.v–8.vi.2014, Esben Bøggild (UCMZ- 8-59). Description. Male. Frons as Fig. 138. Postpedicel, palps and proboscis as Fig. 139. Bristles on left side of thorax as Fig. 140. The anterior scutellars about as long as those on dorsum. Abdominal tergites and venter as Figs 141 & 142. Hypopygium as Figs 143–146. Front leg as Fig. 147. Middle femur and tibia as Fig. 148. Hind femur, tibia and basitarsus as Fig. 149 and femur as Fig. 150. Wing (Fig. 151) 1.90–1.91 mm long. Costal index 0.43. Costal ratios 9.16: 3.23: 1. Costal cilia 0.10 mm long. Hair at base of vein 0.12 mm long. With the single axillary bristle 0.15 mm long. Haltere knob largely brown.
Recognition. In the keys to Palaearctic species (Schmitz, 1943) it runs to couplets 66, lead 1 and couplets 67 and 68 but is immediately distinguished by its hypopygium.
Etymology. Named after Dr Thomas Pape, who has been very helpful to Esben Bøggild in learning how to deal with the identification of Phoridae, and for arranging loans to Henry Disney of type material from the important Lundbeck Collection.
