Distribution. Known from N.W. Iran: Ahar-Tabriz and the Zangezur ridge of Armenia (Fig. 847).
Remarks. There is no difference between the males from Armenia and paratypes and the original description (Descamps 1967), but female hind tibia bluish in the proximal part turning to violet or reddish apically. This coloration is also seen in N. scabiosus mistshenkoi Descamps, but all the other characters of the females from Armenia such as the structures of vertex, the pronotum and hind femur certainly agree with N. balachowskyi . On the other hand Descamps identified 1 female in the ZIN as N. balachowskyi because of its blue hind tibia, but the morphology of this specimen is certainly that of N. scabiosus mistshenkoi . It seems that the coloration of the hind tibia at least in females is somewhat variable in N. balachowskyi and N. scabiosus mistshenkoi .
New for Armenia.
