Nocarodes gibbosus Mistshenko, 1951: Mirzayans 1959: 17; Presa & Garcia 1983: 17; Otte 1994: 174; Hodjat 2012: 266. Nocarodes specialis Mistshenko, 1951: Shumakov 1963: 59, 60.

Type locality. W. Iran, [Ilam], Farahan, N. Malyat-abad. Holotype: female (ZIN).

Material examined. IRAN: Irak, Adasei, N. Malyat-abad, 6.5.1904, 1♀ (Holotype), 6♀ (Paratypes) (leg. Zarudny); [W. Iran], Irak, Adasei, N. Shakhbag, 30.4.1904, 1♀ (Holotype of Nocarodes gibbosus) (leg. Zarudny) (ZIN).

Distribution. W. Iran: Ilam Province (Fig. 848).

Remarks. The type locality is by the Iraqi border of Iran, therefore Iraq is written in its label, but Malyat-abad is in Iran . Mistshenko (Bey-Bienko & Mistshenko 1951: 362) added “Faragan” as the type locality. It is possibly Farahan in Ilam Province.

Mistshenko (Bey-Bienko & Mistshenko 1951: 362) distinguished N. gibbosus by the structures of frontal ridge, the vertex and the pronotum of female, but these differences are not distinct and the similar kind of structures are seen in the population of N. humerosus from Veramin. The two taxa cannot be distinguished among the specimens studied.
