P. niethammeri sp. group

Remarks. The shape of hind femur with strongly widened basal half and with a weak preapical notch distinguishes this species group from all known Nocaracris Uvarov. A similar hind femur with weak preapical notch is also seen in some species of Nocarodes Fischer von Waldheim. Because of this structure of hind femur Ramme (1951: 297) described N. niethammeri in the genus Nocarodes, but this similarity is superficial and the characters given in the generic key of Nocarodeini above (item 8) and the shape of phallus easily allow to distinguish it from Nocarodes .
