Distribution. This species is found in the high altitudes of the Mountains in N.E. of Turkey: Rize, Trabzon, Erzurum, Erzincan, Gümüşhane, Giresun provinces (Fig. 844).

Remarks. The type locality of this species was given by Karabağ (1958) and Demirsoy (1974, 1977) in Gümüşhane Province, but Demirdağ and Varşambek Dağ are in Rize Province as stated by Weidner (1966). Varşambek is also the name of an old Monastery in the highlands of Rize Provice.

Weidner (1979) gave some records of Paranocaracris rubripes rigidus Mistshenko from Rize Province and Mol et al. (2014) from Gümüşhane Province which probably refer to this species.

According to the ICZN (Articles 31.2, 34.2) the species name of this taxon is combined.
