Type locality. Iran: Azerbaijan, Urmia, Maragheh. Lectotype: male (ZIN), here designated.

Distribution. N.W. Iran: Azerbaijan, Kordestan, Zanjan provinces (Fig. 842).

Remarks. The correct spelling of this species name is “ schelkovnikovi ” as it is in original description. Eades et al. (2016), Otte (1994: 174), Garai (2010) and Hodjat (2012) listed this taxon as “ Nocarodes schelkovnikovi (Uvarov, 1918) ” in the genus Nocarodes . On the other hand “ Paranothrotes opacus shelkovnikovi (Uvarov, 1918) ” is given as a separate taxon by Otte (1994: 186) and Eades et al. (2016), but both names refer to the same taxon.

Mistshenko labelled one male as “typus”, but this selection has not been published. Therefore this male is designated as lectotype here. The paralectotypes are preserved in three collections, ZIN, NHMUK and MfN.
