Ocneridia nigropunctata (Lucas, 1849)
Material examined. As Ocneridia nigropunctata: ALGERIA: Algerien, Sambere Timgad, 1300 m, 1♂, 1♀ (leg. S. G. Schaposchnikoff) (AİBÜEM) ; LIBYA: Tripolitania, Tefren, 10 mls SW of Tripoli, 14.4.1946, 2♂ ; Tripolitania, 1946, 1♂, 1♀ ; Tripolitania, 6 mls SE of Tripoli, 9.4.1946, 1♀ ; Tripolitania, Suani ben Adem, 8.4.1946, 1♀ (all leg. E. S. Brown) (NHMUK). As Ocneridia canonica (Fischer, 1853): TUNISIA : Tunis, 1♂, 1♀ (leg. D. Graeffe); Nr. Nabel, 6.4.1966, 1♂, 2♀ (leg. G. Popov); ITALY: Ficuzza, Sicil., 4♀ (leg. Krüger) (NMW); [Sicilia], Augusta, M. Tauro, 9.5.1962, 1♂, 1♀ (leg. La Greca) (det. Hollis as Ocneridia sp.) (NHMUK).
Remarks. Uvarov (1943: 346) and Massa & Biondi (1987: 173, 176) synonymized Ocneridia canonica (Fischer, 1853) with O. nigropunctata (Lucas, 1849) . It has been possible to distinguish both species by the hind leg coloration. The inner surface of hind tibia is black or dark blue, tarsus black or body color in O. nigropunctata (tibia dark red in apical half and darker in basal part, tarsus bright red in O. canonica). I would like to give the materials of the two taxa separately for further research.
