Eremocharis subsulcata minor Cejchan, 1969 syn. nov.

Material examined. AFGHANISTAN: Charikar, 16.5.1935, 1♂ (Holotype), 1♂, 2♀ (Paratypes) (leg. Blanchard) (MfN) .

Remarks. This species was described by Ramme (1952: 194) as a subspecies of E. afghana Ramme, 1928, but it is more related to E. granulosa species group as well as the species E. granulosa by the larger body, the length of tegmina in both sexes and the coloration of hind legs. On the other hand Cejchan (1969: 238) described E. subsulcata minor, that is also related to E. granulosa species group and to the subspecies of E. granulosa by the smaller body, the coloration of hind legs and the length of tegmina. The type locality of Eremocharis subsulcata minor is E. Afghanistan, Nengrahar Prov., 2 km S.W. of Jalalabad, that is very close to the type locality of E. maior . Their characters are very similar, and it is almost impossible to distinguish them. Therefore they are here considered synonyms.

This taxon was cited by Shumakov (1963: 66) as subspecies of Eremocharis afghana Ramme, 1928, but Presa & Garcia (1983: 9), probably erroneously, listed it as subspecies of Eremopeza afghana Uvarov, 1940 . Otte (1994: 144) and Eades et al. (2016) followed Presa & Garcia (1983).
