148. Junonia orithya madagascariensis (Guenée, 1865)

WL: 24mm. J. orithya is a species of the Sudan savanna, able to inhabit degraded forest areas. Often migratory, it occurs throughout mainland Africa, Madagascar and the Seychelles. The caterpillars are polyphagous, feeding on several Acanthaceae, Convolvulaceae, Plantaginaceae, Scrophulariaceae and Verbenaceae .

Studied material. Cacheu: Cacheu, 27.10.2009, 1 specimen (FR). Caió, 2 specimens (JB). Cansamanje, woodland, 22.02.2013, 1♀ (SV) (CZ000011010). Gabú: Cumpangol, no date, 1 specimen (FR).
