109. Melanitis leda (Linnaeus, 1758)

WL: 35mm. The species is ubiquitous and occurs from subdeserts to damp forests, though it seems more common in degraded forest areas. It is known all along Africa and in the Oriental Region. The host-plants are several Poaceae and Cyperaceae .
