Type-species: Trachyusa nigriceps Ruthe, 1854 (by monotypy).

Cosmiocarpa Foerster, 1863: 264 . Type-species: Alysia aurora Haliday, 1838 (by original designation). Synonymized by Reinhard & Taschenberg (1866: 90) by transfer of type-species, but synonymy already indicated by Foerster (1863: 283).

Diagnosis. first flagellomere (including annellus) longer than second flagellomere, and usually not widened (Figs 10H, 12H, 14H, 16G); clypeus medium-sized and semicircular (Figs 10J, 12J, 14J, 16H); face rather evenly convex (Figs 10J, 12J, 14J, 16H); eyes glabrous; mandible slender, middle tooth medium-sized and acute, distinctly longer than lateral teeth (Figs 10J, 12J, 14J, 16H); maxillary palp with 6 segments; pronope round and deep (Figs 10I, 12I, 14I, 16I); precoxal sulcus present medially (Figs 10C, 12C, 14C, 16B); vein 2-SR of fore wing longer than vein 3-SR and vein r of fore wing emitted near middle of pterostigma (Figs 10A, 12A, 14A, 16A), pterostigma of male (compared to pterostigma of female) enlarged (van Achterberg & O’Connor 1990); vein M+CU of hind wing subequal to vein 1M or shorter (Figs 10B, 12B, 14B, 16A); propodeum usually densely and coarsely reticulate-rugose (Figs 10E, 12E, 14E, 16D); second and basal half of third metasomal tergite granulate (Figs 10F, 12F, 14F, 16E); dorsope absent (Fig. 10F, 12E, 14E, 16E); ovipositor sheath short, more or less widened subapically, and slightly protruding beyond apex of metasoma (Figs 10G, 12G, 14G, 16F).

Distribution. Palaearctic and North Oriental (Yu et al. 2016).
