Egyptian localities. Coastal Strip: Amria, Beheira, Burg El-Arab, Mariout . Lower Nile Valley: El-Hager (Giza) . Western Desert: Wadi El-Natroun.

Plants from which flies were swept. Alfalfa ( Medicago sativa L.), the true grasses ( Poaceae) and Egyptian clover ( Trifolium alexandrinum L.).

Dates of collection. February to August.

Remark. Morgulis & Freidberg (2014) noted that the original spelling of the species name is " fascialis " and the spelling " facialis " of Hennig (1940) and (Kameneva 2008) is an unjustified emendation.
