Type data: This species was described based on an undetermined number of males collected in northern Chile. Two syntypes were found at ZMB being here designated the lectotype the one in better condition. Paralectotype male with the following data label: Centris mixta Fr. ♂ [handwritten] 1900 Friese det. [printed]\ [black square]\ Zool. Mus. Berlin [printed]\ [red label] Lectotypus [printed]\ [red label] Type [printed]\ Coll. Friese [printed]\ 11[printed] (ZMB).

Type locality: Chile: Arica y Parinacota region: Arica .

Comment: Friese described this species in 1904a and again the same year (Friese, 1904b) using the same males. To avoid misinterpretations, I am designating here the same specimen cited above as the lectotype.
