Centris (Hemisia) bakeri Friese, 1912a: 199 . Junior primary homonym of C. bakeri Cockerell, 1912 (= C. varia). Centris bakerella Friese, 1912c . nom. nov. for C. bakeri Friese, 1912a . Junior synonym of C. agilis Smith, 1874 (Snelling, 1984) .

Type data: Friese (1912a) described this species using two males collected by the American malacologist and naturalist Frederick Baker (1854–1938) in the Mexican states of Jalisco (Guadalajara) and Morelos. One of those specimens was found at HNHM being here designated the lectotype. The specimens has the following data label: 8240 [handwritten]\ Morelos Crawford [printed]\ [red label] Typus [printed]\ Centris bakeri Fr. ♂ [handwritten]\ 1911 Friese det. [printed] (HNHM). The current condition and depository of the paralectotype from Guadalajara are unknown .

Type locality: Mexico: Morelos state .

Comment: This species has been included in C. (Melanocentris) (Snelling, 1984) and in C. (Aphemisia) (Moure et al. 2007) but it is actually related with species of C. (Paracentris) sensu Zanella (2002) .
