Scolytus ecksteini Butovitsch, 1929

Distribution in Iran. Guilan (Amini et al. 2012, 2014; Amini & Hosseini 2012, Amini et al. 2013), Iran (no locality cited) (Michalski 1973; Knížek 2011).

General distribution. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Southern Russia, Turkmenistan.

Biology. The species breeds in species of Ulmus and Zelkova (Ulmaceae) (Aksent’ev 1993). Recorded in Iran from Ulmus minor (Amini et al. 2013) . Aksent’ev (1993) briefly describes the gallery system, larva and associated species.
