Taphrorychus alni Pfeffer, 1940

This species has been recorded in Northern Provinces of Iran from Alnus sp., Carpinus betulus (Betulaceae), Fagus orientalis (Fagaceae), Juglans regia (Juglandaceae), Pyrus communis (Rosaceae) (Modarres Awal 1997 as Taphrorynchus [sic] alni). Elsewhere the species has been recorded only from Alnus glutinosa (Betulaceae) (Pfeffer 1995). The range of hosts given suggests that the species has been misidentified.
