Thamnurgus delphinii (Rosenhauer, 1856)

Distribution in Iran. Ardabil (Samin et al. 2011).

General distribution. Southern Europe, North Africa, Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Turkmenistan. Biology. Despite its specific name, this species develops on species of Consolida (Ranunculaceae) and Teucrium (Lamiaceae), and not Delphinium (Ranunculaceae) (Mandelshtam et al. 2012). The larvae cause the development of galls on the stems of the host plant close to the petioles (Korotyaev et al. 2005).
