Distribution in Iran. West Azarbaijan (Samin et al. 2011).
General distribution. Europe, North Africa, Kazakhstan, Turkey, through Russia to China, Korea, Japan. Biology. Recorded in Iran from Pinus nigra (Pinaceae) (Samin et al. 2011). The biology, gallery system and seasonal history are described by Chararas (1962) and Krivolutzkaya (1973). The species normally attacks dead trees, and has no economic importance (Krivolutzkaya 1973).
