Phloeotribus rhododactylus (Marsham, 1802)

Distribution in Iran. West Azarbaijan (Samin et al. 2011 as Phloeophthorus rhododactylus).

General distribution. Central and Southern Europe, North Africa, Turkey.

Biology. The species usually breeds in legumes in the tribe Genisteae (e.g. Cytisus, Genista, Sarothamnus, Ulex) (Pfeffer 1972; Wood & Bright 1992), but has also been recorded from Ficus carica by Selmi (1987). Recorded in Iran from Ficus carica (Moraceae) (Samin et al. 2011). Waloff (1968) reviews the biology and population dynamics of the species on Scotch broom ( Cytisus scoparius).
