Phloeotribus brevicollis (Kolenati, 1846)

Distribution in Iran. Mazandaran (Samin et al. 2011 as Phloeophthorus brevicollis).

General distribution. Southeastern Europe, Corsica, Morocco, Turkey. Pfeffer (1995) considers this species to be confined to Crimea and the Caucasus. The cited distribution follows Knížek (2011).

Biology. According to Pfeffer (1994), the species attacks only Fraxinus spp . Other records (Stark, 1952, Schedl 1959) suggest that it also breeds in Fagus orientalis (Fagaceae) and Olea europaea (Oleaceae) . Recorded in Iran from Olea europaea (Samin et al. 2011) .
