Remarks. These are the first precise localities for this taxon, which is now considered by us a subspecies of P. episcopalis . Cordillera de Bogotá may refer to the mountainous belt on the eastern side of Bogotá, part of the Cordillera Oriental. This belt is known as Los Cerros Orientales de Bogotá, or Bosque Oriental de Bogotá (2600–3550 m), and is protected by regional legislation. P. episcopalis auriformis differs from the nominate form by (1) the less rounded last whorl; (2) the stronger columellar fold; (3) the ear-shaped aperture. Valle de Tenza is ca. 40 km NE of Gachetá, the nearest record of P. episcopalis corticosus .
