Chaeridium nitidum Blanchard, 1846: 168 [transferred to Canthidium by Harold 1867a: 35; here transferred to the subgenus Canthidium]. Type locality: Bolivia: Santa Cruz: Chiquitos (“province de Chiquitos”). Type material: Syntypes probably at MNHN. Distribution: Brazil and Bolivia (Martínez & Halffter 1986a).
