Canthidium caesareum Balthasar, 1939: 115 [here transferred to the subgenus Neocanthidium]. Type locality: Brazil: near to Rio de Janeiro (“Brasilia, Umgebung von Rio de Janeiro ”). Type material: Holotype male (NMPC—ex Balthasar collection). Distribution: Brazil: Rio de Janeiro (Martínez & Halffter 1986a).
