Canthidium inoptatum Balthasar, 1939: 130 [here transferred to the subgenus Neocanthidium]. Type locality: Ecuador. Type material: According to Bezděk & Hájek (2012), one female syntype in NMPC—ex Balthasar collection; also, another female syntype in SMFG. Distribution: Ecuador (Martínez & Halffter 1986a).
