Type locality: S 1982/557, open well of Nancy de Venega, in the vicinity of quarter “Misión Abajo” (emend., not “Misión”), Calabozo, GUÁRICO State (08º55’17” N, 67º27’00” W). Holotype (1♀)— ZMA, Ost.150.792.

In Venezuela: corresponds to the type locality .

Remarks: D. lieshoutae is an endemic stygobiont genus and species found only in Venezuela (Karanovic 2012). This species was collected in the central region of the country. It corresponds to the Venezuelan mainland, therefore the geographical distribution indicated in Martens & Behen (1994) and Karanovic & Datry (2009) is incorrect. Based on the work of Broodbakker (1983d), the species has been erroneously associated with the West Indies Islands, a region where it does not occur. An amendment is made to the type locality provided for Venezuela in Broodbakker (1983d): the area from which the sample S 1982/557 was obtained is currently located north of Misión Abajo and Carraquelero quarters. This species is cited in Galán & Herrera’s (2006) review of the cave fauna of Venezuela.
