Remarks: geographical distribution includes only Jamaica and Venezuela. Only females of this species have been found (Broodbakker 1983d). Karanovic (2005) proposes the combination Typhlocypris (Typhlocypris) caribbeana . However, the genus Typhlocypris has been redefined based on morphological characters (Namiotko et al. 2014), which validates the original assignment of Broodbakker (1983d). P. caribbeana is cited in Galán & Herrera’s (2006) review of the cave fauna of Venezuela.
