Type locality: Cunday, 4°00’33.5” N 74°44’21.5” W, 470 m, Tolima Department, Colombia.

Distribution: Colombia: Tolima Department: known only from type locality.

Biology: Davis & Gonzalez, 2008 (in nests of Melipona fuscipes Friese).

Note: This species was not originally assigned to subgenus, but we understand that the authors intended to assign it to the subgenus Scotocryptus, and it fits the diagnostic characters of this subgenus.
