Subgenus Eucatops Portevin

= Acanthocatops Bruch, 1918: 193; Jeannel, 1936: 46 syn. (not stated as taxonomic change). Type species: Acanthocatops formicetorum Bruch (monotypy).

Note: Revised in Salgado (2011d). Salgado, 2004: 3 (and complemented in 2008a: 50, because of an error in original paper) proposed two species groups (for species of Ecuador) but did not use those groups or proposed additional groups for the remaining species in his revision of the subgenus in Salgado (2011d). Therefore, we are not using species groups here.
