Type locality: Caracas, [Distrito Capital, Venezuela].

Distribution: Costa Rica: Puntarenas Province; Peru: Cuzco Department; Venezuela: Distrito Capital.

Note 1: Considering the synonymic list in Jeannel, 1936: 152, it seems that the record in Portevin, 1921: 535 is a misidentification of D. curtus Portevin [1903],

Note 2: The record in Salgado, 2002a: 253 (Ecuador: Cotopaxi Province: Otonga) is a misidentification of D. sokolowski Szymczakowski [1961] (Salgado, 2014b: 97) .
