Genus Eunemadus Portevin
Eunemadus Portevin, 1914a: 192; Jeannel, 1936: 155 (redescription). Type species: Eunemadus chilensis Portevin (3 species in original description, one as “new”— chilensis, fastidiosa Fairmaire [ Choleva], brunneicollis Portevin [ Anemadus]); des. in Hatch, 1928: 208 (not stated as taxonomic change; same 3 species listed).
Distribution: Southern Chile, southwestern Argentina.
Biology: Carrion scavenger in forests.

Syntypes (2 male and 1 female, in original description) in DEIC (as “Mus. Dahlem”, in Jeannel, 1936, 1957, 1962). Type locality:“ Chile ”. Distribution: Argentina: Chubut and Río Negro Provinces; Chile: Arauco, Biobío, Cautín, Chiloé, Concepción, Llanquihue, Malleco, Ñuble, Osorno, Palena, Santiago, Talca, Valdivia, and Valparaiso Provinces.
Note: Salgado (1992b: 175) cited that Portevin, 1914 recorded this species from “near Santiago”, but Portevin referred only to “ Chile ”; Jeannel (1936: 156) mentioned “surely from the region of Santiago”, but not referring to Portevin’s types.
