Genus Falkocholeva Hatch

Distribution: Southern Chile, southwestern Argentina, and Falkland Islands.

Biology: Carrion scavenger in forests.

Distribution: Argentina: Río Negro (also f. edwardsi), Santa Cruz (also obscurus), and Tierra del Fuego Provinces; Chile: Aisén, Cautín, Chiloé, Coihaique, Concepción, Llanquihue (also f. edwardsi), Magallanes (also f. edwardsi), Malleco, Ñuble, Osorno, Palena, Quillota, Talca, Tierra del Fuego (also falklandica), and Valdivia Provinces; Falkland Islands ( falklandica).

Santa Cruz, as in 3 female specimens labeled “types” from MACN examined by Gnaspini, 1999].

(not stated as taxonomic change; given as “ F. cribellata edwardsi Jeannel, 1936 ”, based on the synonymy of F. falklandica with F. cribellata by Jeannel, 1962).? Syntypes (3 specimens, sex not given in original description) in BMNH or MNHN (although Jeannel used to designate a holotype, the original description does not do that and cites both collections as depository for the specimens seen; Szymczakowski, 1965 does not cite types). Type locality: Bariloche, Río Negro Province, Argentina.
