Genus Chiliopelates Jeannel

Chiliopelates Jeannel, 1964: 222 (as subgenus of Dasypelates); Newton, 1998: 78, 167 (sensu novo, to generic status). Type species: Dasypelates pictus Jeannel (orig. des.).

Distribution: Southern Chile, southwestern Argentina.

Biology: Some species attracted to carrion, but most occur on fungusy logs and in litter in forests.
