Genus Karinapelates Salgado
Karinapelates Salgado, 2015a: 86 [declared as feminine gender (sic)]. Type species: Karinapelates lamellula [sic] Salgado (orig. des.).
Distribution: Southern Chile.
Biology: Found on carrion and in forest leaf litter.
Note 1: Gender originally specified as feminine, but Pelates and other names ending in - pelates are evidently derived from the masculine Greek noun πελατης (neighbor) and thus have been correctly considered masculine (ICZN, 1999: Art. 30.1.2). Karinapelates is thus here considered masculine.
Note 2: As “undescribed genus of Camiarinae ” (Newton, 1985:191) and “Genus 1 Newton, undescribed” (Peck et al., 1998a: 44)
