[Note: Jeannel, 1936 does not give sex or number of type specimens and refers to locality as “Santiago, on bird corpse”, and he illustrates a male; Jeannel, 1957 refers to this specific specimen as “the type”, and cites “ 8 specimens ”].

Distribution: Argentina: Chubut, Neuquén, and Río Negro Provinces; Chile: Aconcagua ( brunneus), Arauco, Biobío, Cautín, Chiloé ( brunneus), Concepción ( brunneus), Linares (AFN, personal data), Llanquihue, Malleco (AFN, personal data), Ñuble, Osorno (AFN, personal data), Quillota (AFN, personal data), Santiago, Talca (AFN, personal data), and Valdivia Provinces.
