Genus Dasypelates Portevin

Dasypelates Portevin, 1907: 74; Jeannel, 1936: 111 (redescription); sensu of Newton, 1998: 78, 167 (see note under Chiliopelates). Type species: Dasypelates gracilis Portevin (monotypy).

= Pelatonoma Jeannel, 1957: 50; Newton, 1998: 78, 167 syn. Type species: Pelatonoma pubescens Jeannel (= Dasypelates gracilis Portevin) (orig. des.).

Distribution: Southern Chile, southwestern Argentina.

Biology: Common at carrion and dung, also on fungi of various kinds and in forest litter.
