Typhlonectes natans (Fischer 1880)

Syntypes: ZMB 9522–23 (two specimens) .

Typelocality: “ Cauca, NebenflussdesMagdalenenstroms in Neu-Granada” = Cauca River, tributary of Magdalena River, Colombia .

Distribution: Region 6. Western and northern Colombia, and Maracaibo Lake Basin in northwestern Venezuela.

Remarks: Typhlonectes venezuelensis Fuhrmann, 1914 and Chthonerpeton haydeeae Roze, 1963 are junior synonyms of this species.
