Pleurodema brachyops (Cope 1869)
Syntypes: ANSP 2260–2264 .
Type locality: “Magdalene River, New Grenada” (= Colombia).
Distribution: Regions 2, 3, 6. From Panama in Central America through northern Colombia, Venezuela, and Guyana to northern Brazil, plus Margarita Island and the Netherlands Antilles (Curaçao, Aruba, and Bonaire). In Venezuela, widespread in lowlands north of Orinoco River, northern Amazonas State, and eastern Bolívar State south of Orinoco.
