Genus Hyloscirtus Peters, 1882

Type species: Hyloscirtus bogotensis Peters, 1882 .

Remarks: Centrolenella estevesi Rivero, 1968 was described from a creek close to Río Albarregas north of Merida city, at 2,400 m asl. This name was used as Hyalinobatrachium by La Marca (1997), but more recently Faivovich et al. (2005) revised the holotype (MCZ 72498), reidentified the specimen as a juvenile Hyloscirtus, and considered it as Hyloscirtus estevesi (Frost 2018) . Two species are reported from the same area, both in the H. bogotensis group: H. jahni and H. platydactylus .

From photographs of the holotype of Centrolenella estevesi, the authors suspect it is a juvenile H. jahni, due to snout shape projecting beyond the lip in ventral view and absence of melanophores on fingers I and II. Centrolenella estevesi Rivero, 1968 is thus considered a junior synonym of Hyla jahni Rivero, 1961 .
