Boana geographica (Spix 1824)

Holotype: Not designed. ZSM 35 /0 is part of the type series but is currently lost.

Type locality: Rio Tefé, Amazonas, Brazil.

Distribution: Region 4, 5. Widespread in tropical South America, east of Andes, including Trinidad. Widely distributed in southern and eastern Venezuela (Amazonas, Bolívar, and Delta Amacuro States).

Remarks: Fouquet et al. (2016) show a wider variation of both B. geographica and B. semilineata . They described B. diabolica from the eastern Guiana Shield. A detailed review should be done with Venezuelan populations. In the Boana semilineata species group (Faivovich et al. 2005).
