First record in the Caatinga. It is known only from the municipality Miguel Calmon, Bahia State. This single specimen was collected on the slopes towards the Diamantina Plateau, 532 to 800 m elevation. It is also recorded to the Atlantic Forest and Cerrado (Franco & Ferreira 2003). It may inhabit open areas chacterized by open grasslands and savannas (F. Franco pers. comm.). The species has semi-arboreal habits, is nocturnal and feeds on frogs (Franco & Ferreira 2003).
